Rev. Dr. Donald R. Hudson, B.A., M.Div., D.Min.
Rev. Dr. Hudson was born in Texarkana, Texas and was raised in the city of Dallas, Texas. He has studied and received degrees from several leading colleges and seminaries in the nation. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Criswell College for Biblical Studies in Dallas from which he received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Counseling. He has also earned the Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry degrees from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at the Virginia Union University located in Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Hudson has been in the preaching ministry for over thirty years, and has successfully served as Senior Pastor in Virginia, Nebraska, and Michigan. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor and Founder of the UMOJA Christian Church in Indianapolis. He is also the Founder and CEO of Secure, Incorporated a Nonprofit Organization designed to offer social assistance to communities in the city of Indianapolis. He has served as an Adjunct Professor for Advanced Preaching at the Ecumenical Theological Seminary as well as an instructor for the Study of Black Preaching and Theology at the Heritage Center of Religious Studies in Detroit, Michigan, an extension study program associated with the Ashland Theological Seminary located in Ohio.
Due to his academic pursuits, social and political involvements as well as his religious and educational contributions, Dr. Hudson has received numerous awards and citations from the cities of Detroit and Indianapolis. His name has been placed among the “Who’s Who among Young African Americans”. He presently preaches, and teaches and serves in the area of foreign missions in Africa and Jamaica.
Dr. Hudson presently serves on various committees and boards for social, educational and religious organizations. He continues to be an activist for social and political change and social empowerment. He is the loving and devoted husband to Leatrice Helena Hudson and they are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Zuri Alexandria and Zenobia Re’ Hudson.Dr. Hudson contends that “people are vessels full of potential and possibilities that are capable of taking them to new levels of life experiences. These new level of experiences are reached as people are transformed and empowered through a sense of deep spirituality, as well as a sense of self.” Pastor Hudson is also the Author of a book entitled Sermonic Connection, Simple Steps Linking the Pulpit to the Pew .
